I was reading a book in the living room while my younger brother watched an old cartoon comedy show. Suddenly, I heard the statement, “Go to your happy place! Go to your happy place!”. I looked up to see the television characters laughing and panicking while my younger brother was laughing so hard because of the silliness of the characters. Hearing the statement, made my take down my book and reflect the times where in I was in my happy place over the course of my life.
When I was a little boy, maybe 4 years old I remember myself sitting beside my mother while we watch our favorite show in the morning. When I was in kindergarten, I remember where in my friends would share them some of their biscuits while we take our recess together. My early crush then also noticed me so that was also a big thing for me. When I was starting elementary, I celebrated with my friends as we watch heavy rain fall and eventually suspending classes for the day. And lastly where I started my teenage years, I remember my friends and I eating after classes together with some of our teachers and then just talking about the future.
As I got a bit older though, I realized that the best happy place that I could ever own is deep within my own soul. It was there I realized that God had loved me so much. It was there where I can see that people can love me and I can love too. It was there that happiness isn’t about the things you have at the time or about the failures you have been encountering, but it is the state of mind where we ourselves can create the best things on worst moments. We could create it by one loving choice at a time.
It is you who knows best for your own soul. When you have your own soul as a happy place, then your happy place will dictate you where you want to go. When your happy place lives with in you, you get to give it to people you meet. Being this, the very life you live will then make our world a better place. Remember to create your own happy place. Fill your minds and souls with love. Fill your heart with love. Fill your days with joy. Take the most special gift God has given us and live it with happiness, once loving choice at a time.
